Schedule for the remainder of May…

Amazing job at the recitals, dancers! We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you! Such inspiring, great dancing!
So, we know that you’re not used to having class after the recital…but we do have ‘em this week! (with a few slight changes, and some extra classes to take, too!). Please read carefully below. If you have any questions, let us know!

GSSD Schedule for next couple weeks:

Monday (5/17)

  • Teen Jazz I – please come at 6:30-7:30 instead of 4:30-5:30. Also, please come from 5:30-6:30 on Thursday for a Jazz technique class with Mimi.
  • PT Jazz – please come at 6:30-7:30 instead of 4:30-5:30. Also, please come for a ballet technique class with Victoria on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30, and on Tuesday from 4:30-5:30 for a jazz technique class with Christy.
  • 5-7 yrs J/T – class as usual. Also, please come on Wednesday for a special extra class with Stephanie.
  • 8-12 yrs J/T – class as usual. Also, please come on Tuesday from 4:30-5:30 for a Jazz technique class with Christy (especially if you are planning to audition for the company!)
  • PT Tap – class as usual. Also, please come for a tap technique class with Christy on Tuesday from 5:30-6:30.
  • PT Hip Hop – class as usual. Also, please come for a Hip Hop technique class with Kelsey on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30.


Tuesday (5/18)

  • JR Jazz – class as usual. Also, please come on Wednesday from 4:30-5:30 for a jazz technique class with Christy and from 5:30-6:30 for a Ballet Technique class with Victoria.
  • JR Tap – class as usual
  • Teen Tap – class as usual
  • 6-8 J/HH (Christy’s class) – class as usual.
  • Teen Jazz II (normally at 6:30), please come on Monday (5/17) from 6:30-7:30 for a jazz technique class with Christy and Thursday from 5:30-6:30 for a jazz technique class with Mimi.
  • Adult Hip Hop and Tap – meet at studio at 7pm, we will be going out :o)


Wednesday (5/19)

  • Senior Hip Hop – please come from 5:30-6:30 instead of 4:30-5:30
  • Teen Hip Hop – class as usual
  • Teen Modern – class as usual. Also, please stay for a ballet technique class with Victoria from 5:30-6:30 (if you’re not in hip hop) or 6:30-7:30 (if you are in hip hop), and come on Thursday from 5:30-6:30 for a jazz technique class with Mimi.
  • Jr Ballet – class as usual. Also, please come on Tuesday from 4:30-5:30 for a Jazz technique class with Christy
  • Sr Ballet – class as usual.
  • 8-12 J/HH (Kelsey’s 6:30-7:30) – please come on Tuesday (5/18) from 4:30-5:30. No regular class Wednesday. Also, please come to a ballet technique class with Victoria on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30.


Thursday (5/20)

  • SR Tap – please come on Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 instead of Thursday
  • SR Jazz I and II – class as usual. Also, please come on Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 for a ballet technique class with Victoria.
  • SR Modern – please come on Wednesday at 4:30 instead of Thursday for a jazz technique class with Christy. Also, please come to Wednesday 6:30-7:30 for a ballet technique class with Victoria.


Friday (5/21)

  • 2-4 yrs B/T – class as usual (10-10:45am). We also will be doing a lunch afterwards at Chic-fil-A!


Monday (5/24)

  • ALL STUDIO PIZZA PARTY! Bring snacks or drinks to share, we’ll supply the pizza…party time, woohoo! 5:30-7:00! We’ll be viewing a slide show from the 2009-2010 season!


Saturday (5/29) Boulder Creek Festival Performance

  • Performance from 4-5pm. Please arrive by 3:30 in your first costume


Saturday (6/5) COMPANY AUDITIONS!

  • Ages 7-12 from 10-12pm
  • Ages 13-18 from 12:30-2:30pm
  • if you have not yet signed up at the studio, please do so THIS WEEK, or else shoot us an email. Remember, if you bring a friend to audition, you will receive a $10 tuition credit! If they make the company, and sign up for the 2010-2011 season, you will receive a $25 tuition credit. Even if you are unsure about your schedule next year, you need to audition for placement.

Spring Recital Costume List

Costume Lists for the Recital (non-company classes):

Dig a Little Deeper – Blue Dress, Boa, Tap Shoes (Jack – black pants, white shirt, bow tie, vest)

Pop – Hoodie, Capri’s (Jack- jeans), Hat, Necklace, bare feet

Put Me In Coach – Shirt, baseball pants, socks, hat, tap shoes, ponytail through hat

Do You Remember? – 80’s costume, bare feet, hair in high ponytail

Shooting Star – black shorts, blue/star top, hair in high ponytail, black jazz shoes, tan tights (Gavin – black shorts, black shirt, black shoes)

Let’s Hear It For The Boy – black shorts, black spaghetti strap leotard of cami, white Dance shirt, black jazz shoes, tan tights, hair in high RIGHT SIDE ponytail (Gavin – black shorts, red shirt – sleeves need to be cut off, black jazz shoes)

Crazy – PJs, white v-neck

Driving My Life Away – jeans, plaid shirt (tucked in), trucker hat

Jr Ballet – boy shorts, tan tights, tank top, pink ballet shoes

Sr Ballet – black gauchos, pink top, tan tights, ballet shoes

La La – Zip-Up Hoodies (no writing, but can have pattern, different colors, designs, etc.), black tank top or leotard to wear under (same one can be worn for both this dance and “Let’s Hear it For the Boy”, jeans, converse (don’t need to be “converse”, but that style, can be low or high top, any color/design/pattern) and hair in ponytail of choice (side/low/high with bangs pulled back)

Lollipop – Orange dress, white tutu, tap shoes with orange bows, white tights

Cinderellie – White dress, white tights, ballet shoes

Couple other things about the recitals:

  1. Remember to put in your order before the 12th of May for your $5 off (PER VIDEO!) of the show. If you need me to email you the order form again, I can do that. You can also order the DVD at the show, and after the show online. To receive the $5 discount, you must mail in a check. Address is on the order forms (DVDs by Veria Video)
  2. Don’t forget to order your recital t-shirts! There are two different style options, and tons of color options, too!www.gracestudios.spreadshirt.com
  3. On the picture order forms from Pring Photography, the cost on Package A should be $18, not $19. Remember to bring your order forms to the dress rehearsal to order the pix.
  4. Please set your costume stuff out now, not on Friday…!
  5. A few kids left their recital packets at the studio last week – if you did not receive one, please make sure to get one!

Boulder Creek Festival

This year, for the Boulder Creek Festival, we thought it would be cool to include ALL the GSSD dancers! We perform from 4-5pm on Saturday, May 29th at the Creek Fest…you must arrive in your first costume by 3:30pm. The following is the line-up for the Creek Fest. If you know you can’t be there (due to travel, graduation, etc) please let us know ASAP!
